The Niger Republic Armed Forces (FAN) have made a significant breakthrough in the fight against terrorism by capturing the notorious terrorist kingpin, Kachallah Mai Daji.
According to reports, Mai Daji was apprehended near the border between Nigeria and Niger Republic, specifically at Illela, while attempting to rustle livestock across the border.
This capture comes after nearly a decade of terror inflicted by Mai Daji, during which he reportedly killed numerous people, razed villages to the ground, kidnapped hundreds of individuals, and imposed extortionate levies on villages in the region.
Security analyst and counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad basin, Zagazola Makama, confirmed Mai Daji's reign of terror, highlighting the areas extensively affected by his atrocities, including Tozai, Sabon Garin Darna, Darna Tsolawo, Tudun Gudali, Basanta, ÆŠan Kadu, Takalmawa, Gidan Hamma, Ambarura, Gidan Bulutu, and many others.
The capture of Mai Daji marks a significant victory in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism and restore peace and stability to the region.
It is expected to deal a major blow to the operations of his terror network, providing a sense of relief and hope to the communities that have long suffered under his tyranny.
