The Igbo Journalists Association (IJA), in a press statement, has declared its disassociation from an alleged faction claiming leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide. The group, led by Chief Chidi Ibe and Okechukwu Isiguzoro, was denounced by the IJA as illegitimate and misleading.

According to the statement signed by IJA's National President Sir Amby Uneze and Secretary Dr. Godswill Megwa, the recognized leadership of Ohanaeze remains unchanged, with Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu as the president general and Ambassador Okey Emuchay as the secretary general.

The IJA emphasized that the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, led by Iwuanyanwu, is the only legitimate apex Igbo socio-political organization, representing all Igbo-speaking states and maintaining integrity and continuity in its leadership.

The statement warned the public against being misled by the alleged faction, which it described as "criminally-minded" and intent on causing disharmony within Igbo communities. It urged media organizations to refrain from providing a platform for the faction's false information.

Furthermore, the IJA reaffirmed its support for Chief Iwuanyanwu's leadership, praising his efforts in promoting peace, unity, and development in Igboland.
