"REASON WHY I DIDN'T STOP OBA OLAOYE FROM CONTESTING FOR SOUN STOOL – ADEBOYE

The esteemed General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, addressed the public on Sunday, shedding light on the reason behind his decision not to intervene in the candidacy of Oba Ghandi Olaoye for the revered Soun of Ogbomosoland. Despite Olaoye's past role as a pastor in the RCCG in the United States of America, Pastor Adeboye emphasized the recognition of Olaoye's destiny to ascend to the throne.

Governor Seyi Makinde, on September 2, 2023, approved Olaoye as the 21st Soun of Ogbomosoland from the Olaoye Ruling House, following a meticulous selection process by the town's kingmakers. The vacancy emerged after the demise of Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Ajagungbade III. Subsequently, on September 8, Olaoye was formally installed as the new Soun of Ogbomoso by the kingmakers, led by the Areago of Ogbomoso, High Chief Sobalaje Otolorin, at Abata.

Speaking at the Beulah Baptist Conference in Ogbomoso during an interdenominational thanksgiving service for the newly installed Soun, Pastor Adeboye articulated that he advised Olaoye to seek divine guidance. Upon Olaoye's revelation of God's confirmation, Adeboye affirmed the divine calling, stating, "I cannot stop him because Pastor Olaoye was destined to be a king even before he was born, and thank God it is coming to fruition."

Addressing potential critics, Adeboye asserted the supremacy of God's will, emphasizing that his role was to guide Olaoye in seeking divine approval. The pastor's conviction in Olaoye's predestined kingship underscored the divine orchestration of events leading to the new Soun's ascension.
