NDLEA Kaduna Seizes 1,458kg of Illegal Substances, Apprehends 103 Suspects in December Crackdown
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency's Kaduna State Command has achieved a significant milestone in the relentless battle against drug-related crimes. In a recent statement provided to the News Agency of Nigeria, the agency's Press Officer, Shuaibu Omale, revealed that a total of 1,458.709kg of illegal substances, including cocaine, heroin, cannabis, tramadol, methamphetamine, and various psychotropic substances, were successfully seized in the month of December.
In parallel with the seizures, the command conducted a series of targeted operations resulting in the apprehension of 103 suspects. This diverse group included drug traffickers, dealers, and users, emphasizing the agency's commitment to tackling every facet of the illicit drug trade.
The comprehensive approach extended beyond enforcement actions, with the command actively engaging in public awareness campaigns across the state. These initiatives sought to educate the public about the severe consequences of drug use and the dangers associated with illicit trafficking.
Furthermore, the agency's spokesperson, Shuaibu Omale, highlighted the command's dedication by stating, "It is crucial to note that 26 illicit drug joints were dismantled during our operations. Additionally, the command achieved six convictions and successfully arraigned 24 suspects within the month of December 2023."
The concerted efforts of the NDLEA's Kaduna State Command underscore its commitment to creating a safer and drug-free environment, as well as its unwavering pursuit of justice in the face of drug-related offenses.
