*HON. CHRIS MBARIE, FLAGS OFF THE GROUNDBREAKING OF* *UMUNA MODERN* *MARKET PROJECT*
The Executive Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Chris Mbarie, today officially flagged off the groundbreaking ceremony for the reconstruction of Umuna Market, Orlu, a project designed to transform the market into a modern commercial hub comparable to any contemporary market in Nigeria.
The project, which is set to commence next week, will feature state-of-the-art facilities aimed at enhancing trade, accessibility, and economic development within the region.
In his address at the event, the Executive Chairman expressed profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, for partnering with the Orlu Local Government to actualize the long-awaited reconstruction of the market.
Hon. Mbarie assured the traders and residents that the project will be executed with speed and commitment, emphasizing that, “We have not come to play. Construction begins next week, starting with the Free Zone, followed by other sections of the market.”
The event witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including HRH Eze B.C. Okereke, the traditional ruler of Uzoubi Umuna Autonomous Community; Igwe Douglas Okwara, President-General; market leaders; and various stakeholders and traders.
They collectively applauded the Executive Chairman for his visionary leadership and commendable strides in promoting economic growth and infrastructural development in Orlu.
