The National Association of N-Power Beneficiaries (NANB) has called on the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release the full findings of its investigation into alleged corruption within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

In a letter dated May 2, 2025, addressed to the EFCC Chairman and signed by NANB's National Secretary, Bashir Ladan, the association emphasized the need for transparency and accountability. The letter stated:

“We are formally requesting the public release of the EFCC’s comprehensive report on the corruption allegations involving the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

These alleged offenses have severe implications for national development and citizen welfare. Making the findings public would strengthen confidence in the nation’s anti-corruption framework.

We appeal to the EFCC to disclose the full report either publicly or by granting access to concerned citizens and civil society organizations.”

The EFCC initiated investigations into the Ministry following allegations of financial mismanagement involving former Ministers Sadiya Umar-Farouk and Betta Edu, as well as former NSIPA coordinator Halima Shehu and contractor James Okwete. Despite recovering over N30 billion, the Commission has yet to release a conclusive report.

The N-Power programme, launched in 2016 under President Muhammadu Buhari, aims to reduce youth unemployment through vocational training and employment opportunities for Nigerians aged 18 to 35. Beneficiaries have expressed concerns over unpaid stipends and the need for transparency in the programme's administration.

NANB's appeal underscores the importance of transparency in governance and the need for timely disclosure of investigative findings to maintain public trust in anti-corruption efforts.
