Created in 1991, Njaba was named after a landmark of Njaba river that flows through the Local Government down to the Atlantic Ocean.
But NJABA could be said to be an acronym depicting NATURAL JOINT APENAGE FOR BETTER ADVANCEMENT By Natural, it conveys the God given ambience garnished with natural resources, viable human resources and hospitable ambience.
The logo of Njaba captures the key cash crops and the defining landmark with which Njaba is known. Cashew plantation was first established in Njaba in the whole of Imo State. Boasting of over 30 hectare of cashew plantation and huge economic potentials with arable land that supports cashew development, Njaba is well captured in the national map as an enclave that produces and holds greater potentials of cashew for Local and export use. Cashew fruits serve for eating, fruit juice production, herbal medicinal use, and for cashew seeds Local use and export.
Another cash crop represented in the logo is Palm tree with fruits. Being an enclave in the tropics and with rich and fertile soil, Njaba has large population of palm trees and produces palm fruits all year round. This is a major source of income to the Local populace and contributes significantly to national economic indices in the country. Njaba is also known for large deposit of construction sand that supports building and construction. In addition , it's contiguous location within the belt of natural gas through horizontal dimension makes Njaba located within a very strategic location that houses operations that support oil and gas operations with huge potential lining along Njaba river Bank.
The logo therefore captures all these to show that Njaba is a huge potential housing natural resources, ambience to support commercial cash crop farming and extractive industry operation.
The design holds a combination of white and red colours conveying collectivist ideology of unity that promotes peace and integrity. Red colour adds a brilliance of love that bonds all together emphasizing that collectivist focus laden with charitable sacrifice defines the aura of the people.
The motto of Njaba is Integrity, Knowledge, and Industry. This is to promote orientation of youths and the people that there is no enviable height that could be attained without integrity. That means the people must imbibe a culture of service and dignity of labour and eschew all forms of animalistic attitude. Njaba stands to promote positive attitude and moral rectitude and never to encourage illegitimate clinging ideology.
Knowledge itself is power and it is what inspires the people to seek for studies and skills development and to decipher positive knowledge from negative knowledge. This is the conscious call to urbane lifestyle and disposition which has led to mass exodus of the people to dwell in diasporas space.
