In a remarkable display of unity and solidarity, the Executive Chairman of Ideato South Local Government Council, Hon. Okechukwu Okwara (Morocco), hosted a historic reunion of all elected councillors from 1999 to date. The event, held at the Chief Collins Obih Hall in the council headquarters, Dikenafai, brought together former councillors from various political parties.
The reunion was marked by a spirit of camaraderie and shared purpose, as the former councillors declared their unwavering support for the APC government at both the local and state levels. The attendees were thrilled when the Executive Chairman announced plans to make the reunion a periodic event.
In a communiqué signed by all the former councillors, they expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Imo State, H.E. Sen. Hope Uzodinma, for his impressive infrastructural developments. They specifically commended the governor's efforts on the Umuchima gully, Orlu/Akokwa/Uga Road, and the impending construction of the Okwelle-Dikenafai-Ntueke Road.
The former councillors also praised the Executive Chairman, Hon. Okechukwu Okwara (Morocco), and the 7th Legislative Council, led by Rt. Hon. Okechukwu Anusionwu, for initiating the reunion. They pledged their loyalty and unflinching support to the APC government, both at the state and local levels.
The event was attended by notable figures, including the Leader of the 7th Legislative Council, Rt. Hon. Okechukwu Anusionwu, his deputy, Rt. Hon. Johnbosco Ikebundu, and all members of the 7th Legislative Council. Leaders of the 2018, 2010, and 2004 councils were also present.
The communiqué, signed by all the former councillors, served as a testament to their unity and commitment to the APC government.
