Omeogo Attends Extraordinary Session of ECOWAS Parliament in Kano State

 *OMEOGO ATTENDS AND FULLY PARTICIPATES IN THE 2024 SECOND EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF ECOWAS PARLIAMENT IN KANO STATE, NIGERIA.*

The member representing the great people of Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Omeogo, Ogbaturuenyi Na Orlu), who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Inter-Governmental Affairs of the 10th National Assembly and member of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament, has attended and fully participated in the 2024 Extraordinary Session of ECOWAS Parliament which took place in Kano State, Nigeria.

The week long session saw the Parliament elect Togolese Mrs. Memounatou Ibrahima as the speaker of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament and the first ever female speaker of the ECOWAS Legislature. Mrs. Ibrahima was the second Deputy Speaker in the 5th (last) Parliament.

Having elected Ibrahima as speaker, our own Deputy Senate President, His Excellency, Dist. Sen. Barau Jibrin, who was elected as the first Deputy Speaker of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament takes back to his post as first deputy speaker of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament.

Adjaratou Coulibaly from Cote d' Ivoire is the second deputy speaker; Ghana's Alexander Afenyo-Markin is the third deputy speaker while Billay Tunkara from Gambia is the fourth deputy speaker of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament.

ECOWAS Parliament is the Legislature for ECOWAS membership countries of West African Sub-region, where Parliamentarians are elected to represent their countries. Recently, the Parliament had 15 countries membership until Mali, Burkina faso and Niger Republic withdrew their membership for changing from democracy to military rule in their countries thereby dropping the number of the Parliament membership to 12 West African countries.

Omeogo is focused, he knows his duties and he's performing them with full dedication. He knows the game and he's playing it well. The voice of Orlu, Orsu and Oru East is now sounding all over Nigeria and West Africa.
