Eyewitnesses recount the devastating boat accident that resulted in the death of popular Nollywood actor, John Paul Odonwodo, known as Junior Pope, as two vessels collided, causing both to capsize.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, April 10, led to Junior Pope drowning while returning from a movie set. The eyewitnesses attribute the collision to the lack of concentration and negligence of the boat driver, who failed to notice an approaching vessel. Despite some victims managing to find refuge on another vessel and being rescued, three bodies, including that of Junior Pope, have been recovered, with search operations ongoing to locate other victims.
