President of ISAMATA Collaborates with Federal Ministry of Women Affairs to Empower Nigerian Traders

Few days ago, the President of ISAMATA, Hon Chief. Emmanuel Ezeanochie (JP) had a crucial meeting with the Honorable Minister, Federal Ministry of Woman Affairs, Barr. Mrs. Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye alongside other dignitaries in Abuja FTC.  



The meeting which held on Wednesday 17th April 2024 at the Minister's Office,  Federal Ministry of Women Affairs Headquarters, Abuja  bothered on the agenda to ensure that Nigerian traders, especially market women benefit from the ongoing Federal government E-market empowerment programme.



The programme which aim at providing financial support for market women accross the Country to enable their small/medium scale businesses thrive, is one of the poverty alleviation schemes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration


In her address, the Honorable Minister for women affairs urged women to take advantage of this programme in order to grow their businesses. Barr. Uju commended the President, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his zeal and commitment towards the fight against poverty in the Country. She noted that the empowerment programme will go a long way to cushion the economic difficulties of the present time.


Speaking at the meeting, the ISAMATA President, Hon. Chief. Emmanuel Ezeanochie (JP) who was appointed member of the E-market committee set-up by the Honorable Minister, mentioned effective ways on how the empowerment forms can get to the grassroots. 




According to him,"There is need to create more awareness especially through the electronic media so as to ensure that every traders across the country get to know about this empowerment programme and capitalize on it."


However, It is important to note that the E-market empowerment forms are already available online and the Federal government has released the empowerment funds to Ministry of Women Affairs for it's effect disbursement.
