In a one-day dialogue organized by the House of Representatives, former President Goodluck Jonathan emphasized the necessity of state police for Nigeria's security.

He stressed that state police are crucial, citing unanimous support from delegates during the 2014 conference.

Jonathan also highlighted the importance of complementing state police with other security measures and reforming INEC operations to ensure fair elections.

He cautioned against potential misuse of state police for political gains, advocating for strong laws to prevent abuse and intimidation.
