Former Kano State Governor, Dr. Ganduje, has been suspended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward in Ganduje, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

The suspension, announced by the ward’s legal adviser, Halliru Gwanzo, during a press briefing in Kano on Monday, follows allegations of bribery leveled against Ganduje by the Kano State Government.

"We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him," stated Gwanzo. The suspension, effective from Monday, 15 April 2024, will remain until Ganduje clears himself from the accusations.

The suspension has raised questions about the leadership of the APC and could potentially impact Nigerian politics leading up to the 2027 elections. The APC national chairman is yet to provide a comment on the matter.
