"Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua Assumes Chairmanship of Northern Senators Forum"

Senator Abdulaziz Yar’adua, brother of late President Umaru Yar’adua and representing Katsina Central Senatorial District, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Northern Senators Forum (NSF).

This development comes after the resignation of Abdul Ningi (PDP-Bauchi), who stepped down from the position following his suspension for three months. Ningi's suspension stemmed from allegations of budget padding to the tune of N3 trillion in the 2024 budget. In his resignation letter addressed to the Secretary of NSF, Ningi cited unfolding events in the National Assembly, the North, and the nation at large as reasons for his decision.

He expressed gratitude to forum members for the opportunity to lead for the past eight months, emphasizing the importance of the forum for the progress and development of Northern Nigeria. Yar’adua's appointment marks a transition in leadership within the NSF, with expectations high for his stewardship in fostering dialogue and progress within the Northern region.
