"Ekiti's Past Leaders Criticized for Development Failures: Afe Babalola Voices Concerns"
Renowned legal luminary and founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD), Afe Babalola (SAN), expressed dismay over the lack of development in Ekiti State under past administrations, citing a departure from the initial vision for the state's progress.
Speaking at the commissioning of the multisystem hospital annexe in Ado Ekiti, Babalola praised Governor Biodun Oyebanji's efforts while urging earlier governance involvement. He emphasized the need for leadership alignment with the state's founding principles and criticized the neglect of critical infrastructure such as the deteriorating federal road to ABUAD.
In response, Governor Oyebanji assured prompt action on road reconstruction and acknowledged Babalola's significant contributions to Ekiti's development.
