Labour Party National Chairman Arrested in Benin Amidst Corruption Allegations

Julius Abure, the national chairman of the Labour Party, has been arrested in Benin, the Edo State capital.

Viral photos circulating on social media captured the moment he was apprehended and whisked into the van by the police.

This arrest comes amidst a backdrop of a corruption scandal involving Abure.

He was accused by a suspended treasurer of the Labour Party, Uche Opara, of embezzling three billion naira party funds.

Despite the allegations, the party denied any wrongdoing on Abure’s part.

36 state chairmen of the Labour Party yesterday passed a vote of confidence on Abure.
