Prominent Lagos PDP Chairman Aivoji Kidnapped: Urgent Plea for Government Intervention

In a distressing turn of events, Philip Aivoji, Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was abducted on Thursday, January 25, at approximately 6:00 pm along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. The incident occurred as he was returning from a stakeholders meeting in Oyo State, convened by Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke of Oyo and Osun, respectively.

Expressing deep concern over the prevailing issue of kidnapping in the country, Alhaji Hakeem Amode, the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, issued a statement on Friday urging swift intervention from security agencies and government authorities. Emphasizing the urgency of the matter, Amode highlighted the violent nature of Aivoji's abduction, with his current whereabouts and any communication from the abductors remaining unknown.

Amode stressed the need for decisive actions to address the growing menace of kidnapping, calling upon the governments of Oyo, Ogun, and Lagos states, as well as security agencies, to expedite efforts and ensure Aivoji's safe return to his family and well-wishers.

Amid escalating concerns, the PDP spokesman expressed optimism in the capabilities of security agencies to rescue Aivoji from the hands of these criminals. He also urged the public to support initiatives aimed at putting an end to the threatening impact of such incidents on innocent lives.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the pressing need for comprehensive measures to tackle the rising challenges posed by criminal activities, particularly kidnappings, and underscores the responsibility of both the government and stakeholders to safeguard the lives of citizens.
