BREAKING: Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda Inaugurated as APC National Chairman
Abuja – In a major development within Nigeria’s ruling party, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, former gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State and current Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, has been officially inaugurated as the new National Chairman of the APC.
His emergence follows a unanimous endorsement by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and APC Governors during a strategic meeting held late Thursday night at the Presidential Villa. Yilwatda's nomination aligns with the party’s internal zoning formula, favoring the North-Central region.
At 56, the technocrat-turned-politician brings with him a reputation for discipline, transparency, and digital governance reforms. His inauguration was ratified by the APC National Executive Committee (NEC) earlier today, effectively marking the end of Abdullahi Ganduje’s tenure.
Analysts describe Yilwatda's appointment as a bold step toward party reform and generational balance, especially ahead of the 2027 general elections.
