The Federal Government has announced the closure of the Independence Bridge (Marina-bound) in Lagos for essential maintenance and rehabilitation works. The closure is scheduled to commence on April 1, 2025, and will continue until the end of May 2025.

Mrs. Olukorede Kesha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos, stated that the closure would impact traffic flow from Ahmadu Bello Way and Adeola Odeku towards Marina, Eko Bridge, and Onikan by Zone 2. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and consider alternative routes to mitigate potential delays during this period.

The Federal Ministry of Works has apologized for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the public's understanding and cooperation as efforts are made to improve the infrastructure.

Commuters are encouraged to stay informed about traffic updates and adhere to traffic management measures put in place to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles during the maintenance period.
