Dr. Emana Duke Ambrose-Amawhe, the Deputy Governorship Candidate for the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State during the 2023 general elections, has officially resigned from the party. In a letter dated March 28, 2025, addressed to the chairman of Edem Odo Ward in Akpabuyo Local Government Area, she stated that her resignation is effective immediately.

Ambrose-Amawhe expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the PDP, including her role as the deputy governorship candidate. She described it as a privilege to contribute to the party's vision and engage meaningfully with the community. However, after carefully reflecting on the party's current state of affairs, she believes it is time to move on. She remains committed to serving her community and contributing to the progress of Cross River State and the nation in other capacities.

Prior to her role in the 2023 gubernatorial elections alongside Senator Sandy Onor, Ambrose-Amawhe also contested for a seat in the House of Representatives, representing the Bakassi/Akpabuyo/Calabar South Federal Constituency under the PDP.

Her resignation marks a significant development within the Cross River State chapter of the PDP, potentially impacting the party's dynamics as it prepares for future political engagements.
