Veteran journalist and political figure Dele Momodu has advised Senate President Godswill Akpabio to reconcile with Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to prevent potential damage to his political career. Speaking on Channels Television's "The Morning Brief" on March 31, 2025, Momodu emphasized the importance of resolving the ongoing conflict between Akpabio and Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was recently suspended from the Senate following her allegations of sexual harassment against Akpabio.

Momodu expressed concern over the Senate's decision to initiate a recall process against Akpoti-Uduaghan, questioning the benefits of such actions. He highlighted similar political disputes, such as the crisis in Rivers State involving Minister Nyesom Wike and Governor Siminalayi Fubara, as examples of personal disagreements escalating into broader conflicts. Momodu advised Akpabio to seek an amicable resolution with Akpoti-Uduaghan to avoid jeopardizing his political legacy.

In response to the suspension and recall efforts, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan has remained resolute, stating, "I stand firm in my resolve to never apologise for speaking my truth. The desperation to silence me is palpable, but I will not be intimidated."

The situation has sparked widespread debate, with many urging both parties to prioritize dialogue and reconciliation to uphold the integrity of Nigeria's legislative institutions.
