Pastor Chris Mbarie ( JP) the Executive chairman of orlu local government has really came to do a new thing in orlu politics.
He has come to tell the good people of orlu that, the best government is democracy through Elected leaders chosen by the people.
He has come to bring dividends of Democracy to the grassroot in all the 36 communities and the 13 wards that made up orlu local government.
He knew the needs of ndi orlu during his test run as solad.
Good things doesn't come easy was agreed by me during the last campaign days and election.
APC government has come to better orlu local government through Hon. Pastor Chris Mbarie ( JP) my name sake.
Why I'm i saying all these someone may ask?
1. Concluded relocation of Motorcycle spare parts and Belgium motorcycle from their temporary site at Mgbee Street to Nkwo Owerri -Ebeiri.
Speedy work is going on at Nkwo Owerri -Ebeiri . This will enable Mgbee Street to be decongested for the free movement of motor and motorcycle especially for those going to ideato and BSC road.
2. New administrative block for senior staffs inside local government headquarters. The old burnt administrative building has made many senior staffs to loose their offices and respect as senior officer.
Today, pastor Chris Mbarie has started a story building with toilet facilities inside to stop the challenges of not having office for administrative works.
3. FREE JAMB REGISTRATION FOR ORLU STUDENTS.
Because of the present economic situation in the world, most of our students have dropped out of school.
Pastor Chris has taken it upon himself to make sure that there is no student From orlu local government that will not go to the university.
Millions of Naira was spent to purchase jamb form for students of orlu.
3. ROADS.
As a good leader who is homely made. He informed the governor the need it be to reconstruct all the roads in orlu especially those states roads.
Today we all can witness the massive construction of roads in and around orlu.
Banana junction to Mgbabano. From banana junction to Akaokwa. Y junction to Nkwoito. Umuna Road to Ngumuoha. While motion to construct orlu urban roads has been filled by the 7th legislative council, orlu local government cancillors.
4. Last December the chairman through the councilors representing the 13 INEC ward graded 3 major roads in their various communities.
5. ROAD SAFTY BURNT BUILDING.
To ease the pains of people going to owerri for driver's license. Pastor Chris Mbarie has taken the bull by the horn to reinstall the services of Road safety reconstructed the BURNT Road safety building at Orlu LGA.
All the necessary equipments and machines has been brought down for effective take off.
Soon, the story of going to owerri for driver's license will be a thing of the past.
6. IMO STATE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE ORLU BRANCH.( IIRS)
As you may know IIRS has branches all over the 27 local government in IMO State.
Orlu branch has their office outside local government headquarters. Immediately pastor Chris Mbarie came as the executive chairman,he found it worthy that we supposed to have a nice and better equipped office inside Orlu local government headquarters to enable us to Carry out our duties without far of the unknown. IIRS is the major Revenue generating sector. For this reason pastor Chris has sworn to make them comfortable while discharging their duties.
7. WORKERS SALARY!!!
Old story of not getting salary at the end of the month.
Local government now has full autonomy. As a result of this,the salary of the workers are under the chairman which he has been paying immediately is 20th of every month.
Pastor Chris Mbarie through the order of the state government has paid minimum wage of 70k starting from January 2025. There was a sound joy and jubilation all over the council and IMO State as workers went home with minimum wage of 70k two days ago.
8. SECURITY.
The good people of orlu local government can now sleep with their two eyes closed.
No local government can develop without adequate security on ground. Since pastor Chris came back there has been kpaiakpaiakpia in orlu.
Construction company are busy doing their works with adequate security personnels on ground. Orlu is coming back to it's glory gradually.
9. Pastor Chris is going about calling all the APC family both those who voted for him and those who did not vote him to come together for us to build a formidable APC family in orlu politics.
This is a step of a true leader with an open mind.
10. APPOINTMENT!!!
pastor Chris Mbarie has appointed the right people in different positions in the council.
He who works must reap the fruit of his or her labor.
Many appointment still on the way. He promised to appoint all the APC family in orlu that merited to be given appointment even across the party borders.
Noting good comes easy!!!
