The event was a huge success at the flag-off of the Omeogo's "Health Is Wealth" Free Medical Mission for the people of Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State as their House of Representatives member, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Omeogo, Ogbaturuenyi Na Orlu) flags off his free medical mission for his people.
Hon. Omeogo is the member representing Orlu, Orsu and Oru East of Imo State at the Federal House of Representatives and the Chairman of House Committee on Inter-Governmental Affairs of the 10th National Assembly. He is also a member of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament.
His "Health Is Wealth" Free Medical Mission is a continuous project hence it's a"Mission" and is providing health care, including examination by doctors, medical tests and diagnosis and treatment to the constituents absolutely free of charge.
The flag-off took place on Thursday, 2nd of May 2024 at Orlu LGA Council Headquarters. Immediately after the flag-off, the doctors, specialists and medical experts moved into action and started giving medical attention to the constituents who came from the three LGAs of the Federal Constituecy of Orlu LGA, Orsu LGA and Oru East LGA.
The people received treatments ranging from deworming, dental care, eye checks and treatments, including distribution of eyeglasses where the case requires.
They were tested and treated for malaria, typhoid, high and low blood pressure, high and low sugar levels, cold, cough, pneumonia, rheumatism, asthma, tuberculosis, hepatitis and several other cases.
The medical team drawn from both within and outside the country on the next day, Friday, 3rd May 2024 moved to Oru East LGA Council Headquarters where they continued to give out the free medical attention to the constituents with huge number of people trooping out to receive this free gesture from a man with Heart of Gold.
It was the turn of Orsu LGA on Saturday, 4th May 2024 as the team moved to give treatments to the constituents in Orsu LGA.
The case was the same as an uncountable number of happy constituents kept trooping out and were all checked, tested and treated by the able and capable team of doctors, specialists and medical experts.
The peace and unity among the three LGAs and the people's love for their House of Reps member as a unifier came to play as we observed that the LGA that was assigned a particular day notwithstanding, constituents not minding the particular LGA they are from, were able to receive their treatment from any of the LGA venues and days that was convenient to them without discrimination.
Wherever the team went, it was all joy, smiles and reign of prayers and blessings upon Hon. High Chief Omeogo and the medical team.
It was indeed a huge success and to God Almighty be all the Glory!
