The commissioner for Trade,COMMERCE and investment Hon. Dr Chika ABAZU has challenged the management and Staff of the ministry to be productive and dedicated to duties as such is the only way to move the ministry forward.
The commissioner said this in his office while addressing workers who converged to receive him with songs and jubilation.
He commended the excited workers for trooping out en-masse to welcome him and promise not to let them down.
He further advise them to be productive , dedicated and sincere as such is the only way forward.
Commissioner Abazu said he needed the workers support to achieve excellence to make the state proud.
He advised the workers to embrace love and co_operation as well as to take their works more seriously and shun truancy, gossip during working hours so as to enable him be proud of them.
He condemned the act of corruption and embezzlement of government /public fund and advise any one involving him or herself in such act to decease from it.
Commissioner Abazu threatened to replace any head of department found wanting in his duty or who cannot deliver.
In another development, the Acting permanent secretary of the ministry Chief Basil Iwu JP during the management meeting handed over to the commissioner Hon Dr Chika Abazu a written hand over note.
Commissioner Abazu expressed satisfaction and thanked the perm sec for his care and doggedness in piloting the affairs of the ministry before he resumed work as commissioner.
The commissioner assured the management Staff his readiness to work with them should they be law abiding and dedicated to their duties.
He reminded them the 3R mantra policies of the present administration which focused on recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction.
Commissioner Abazu promised to open a website in the ministry as such is necessary and to enhance easy communication and easy dessimination of informations.
When speaking ,the permanent secretary ministry of Trade , commerce and investment Chief Basil Iwu JP eugolised His excellency Dist. Senator Hope Uzodimma, Executive Governor Imo state for appointing a vibrant and intelligent young man to pilot the affairs of the ministry.
By so doing the Governor has shown that he has the ministry and state progress in mind and assured that posterity will never forget him.
He assured the commissioner that the work force of the ministry will remain law abiding , dedicated to duties and prayed to God to guide the commissioner to deliver as expected.
The management Staff used the opportunity to narrate duties of their various departments and units.
The meeting was graced by group photographs by the commissioner and the management of ministry of Trade, Commerce and investment.
