OMEOGO ELECTED AND INAUGURATED AS A MEMBER OF 6TH ECOWAS PARLIAMENT

The Member representing the great people of Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State at the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Omeogo, Ogbaturuenyi Na Orlu), who is also the Chairman House Committee on Inter-Governmental Affairs,10th National Assembly, has been elected and inaugurated among others as members of ECOWAS Parliament.


Hon. Omeogo and some other members of the 10th National Assembly were elected to represent Nigeria at the ECOWAS Parliament. The elected members were inaugurated on Thursday, 4th of April 2024 at the International Conference Center (ICC) Abuja.


Present at the occasion include: President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Sen. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is the current Chairman of ECOWAS, the Senate President, His Excellency, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Jibrin Barau, who was elected as the Deputy Speaker of the 6th ECOWAS Parliament. Also present is the FCT Minister, His Excellency Barr. Nyesom Wike among other top government officials.



ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) is the apex regional body that holds the West African countries together and the elected and inaugurated members will work and engage with their counterparts from other ECOWAS countries to exchange ideas, and find innovative solutions to pressing regional issues such as regional security, climate change, economic development and stability, trade facilitation, and general governance.


Omeogo is our man, he is taking us places, we are proud of him, the voice of Orlu, Orsu and Oru East is going places and getting louder and will be heard in West Africa.
