Governor Makinde Declares Oyo State Local Government Election Peaceful

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has affirmed the peaceful conduct of the ongoing local government election within the state.


 Speaking to journalists after casting his vote at Polling Unit 1, Ward 11 in Ibadan North East Local Government Area, Makinde praised the electorate for their active participation in the electoral process. 


The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) is overseeing the election, which has reportedly been characterized by tranquility and adherence to security measures. 


Makinde emphasized the importance of grassroots democracy, highlighting the transition from previous caretaker administrations to elected officials chosen by the people.


 He urged citizens to promptly report any irregularities to the appropriate authorities. This assertion underscores the commitment of the state government to fostering democratic principles and ensuring a peaceful electoral process at all levels.
