The Imo State House of Assembly has passed a motion urging *His Excellency, Distd. Senator Hope Uzodinma,* to direct the Ministry of Works to undertake palliative rehabilitation on the Orlu to Ihiala Road through Orsu Local Government.
The motion, sponsored by Orsu Lawmaker *Rt. Hon. Uche Francis Agabige*, received widespread support from other members of the assembly.
In his lead debate, *Rt. Hon. Uche* highlighted the critical condition of the Orlu/Amaifeke/Ihioma/Ebenator/Awo-Idemili/Ihiala Road, which falls under the jurisdiction of three Local governments, namely Orlu, Orsu and Ihiala.
The finest Lawmaker's motion emphasized the deteriorated state of the Ihioma/Ebenator/Awo-Idemili segment of the road, which has become completely impassable due to its collapse.
Further state the sufferings and inconvenience caused by the predominant of the said criminals causing incessant killings in Orsu axis according to him, faced by the residents of the axis especially Ihioma/Ebenator/Awo-Idemili as a result of the bad Road, prompted resolution to urge the Governor of Imo State to direct the Ministry of Works to immediately undertake palliative measures on this road stretch.
Notably, the Orsu Lawmaker acknowledged that the road is a federal road, and federal agencies such as FERMA/NEMA were recently called upon by the federal House of Representatives to carry out extensive rehabilitation work on it, yet the agencies are not on-site to begin the necessary rehabilitation.
The motion received unanimous support from the members of the Imo State House of Assembly, highlighting their shared concern for the welfare and safety of the affected citizens of his Constituency. The Assembly Members recognized the urgency of addressing the road's condition and the need to provide temporary relief through palliative measures while awaiting FERMA's major reconstruction efforts
Conclusively looking at *Rt. Hon. Uche Agabige* charitable legislative prowess, Orsu, Orlu and Ihiala beneficiaries whom he massaged their interests had to react positively and expeditiously so that *Rt. Hon. Agabige* would score his set goals of getting the much needed urgent attention to the said road and achieving the respite needed therein without hassles.
