"Federal High Court in Kano Bars Local Agency from Probing APC Chairman over Bribery Video"
The Federal High Court in Kano has issued an order restraining the Kano Anti-Corruption Complaints Commission from investigating the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, over a viral bribery video.
The Kano agency had previously announced its intention to probe Dr Ganduje concerning the controversial video allegedly showing him receiving bribes.
Presiding over the case, Justice Liman ruled on Tuesday that the investigation falls under federal jurisdiction and that only a federal agency possesses the authority to conduct such inquiries.
The bribery video, which gained widespread attention after being broadcast by Daily Nigeria, sparked calls for investigations into the actions of Dr Ganduje.
However, the court’s ruling emphasized the need to adhere to legal processes and delineate jurisdiction in addressing such sensitive matters.
