"Anglican Women's Council Pays Courtesy Visit to Imo State Deputy Governor"

Members of the Owerri Council of Ladies of Knights of St. Christopher, representing the Anglican Communion, paid a courtesy visit to Her Excellency Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, the Deputy Governor of Imo State, on Tuesday, 26th March, 2023. The delegation was warmly received in the conference room of the Deputy Governor's office, where Lady Ekomaru emphasized the vital role of women in both the family and society.


During the meeting, Lady Ekomaru commended the women for their commitment to good governance and highlighted their significant contributions before and during the gubernatorial election in Imo State. She also assured them of Governor Hope Uzodimma's dedication to effective governance for the benefit of all Imolites.


In her address, President of the organization, Lady Nkechi Onyekuru, expressed solidarity with the Deputy Governor and reiterated their unwavering support and prayers. Onyekuru urged Lady Ekomaru to leverage her position to promote the council's activities and showcase the state positively.


The visit was attended by officials including the acting Principal Secretary of the Deputy Governor's office, Mr. John Njoku, and the Director of Administrations and Finance, Dr. Mrs. Linda Ogbu. Dr. Uzopuo Charles Nnamdi, State Coordinator of the Ekomaru Vanguards of Hope, also graced the occasion.
