OZUOMEE N'ORLU; ORLU LOCAL GOVERNMENT EXECUTIVE CHAIRMANSHIP AND THE TRUE MEANING OF DESERVED "EMILOKAN"

By Hon (Amb) Stanford Arinze Nwokedi

(#FreePenMedia)

I woke up last Sunday morning to discover I had been added to a new Whatsapp Platform while I slept. Yes, a Burial Support Platform was created in honour of Late Mrs Jenny Racheal Okonkwo - The Iron Lady of Orlu Politics. Late Mrs Jenny Racheal Okonkwo (Ironiini) was killed in cold blood about two years ago because of her political affiliation and fervent loyalty to Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma. She was gruesomely murdered together with her Ward Chairman and woman leader.

As I reminisced over the poor innocent woman, the slain youth leader and the Ward woman leader, I got a flash of the likes of my Bossom friend, Mazi Jawbreaker of Oguta LGA.  It dawned on me, once more, the extreme travails that the fervent loyalists of Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma have had to  go through to birth the reign of the Shared Prosperity Governance which Imo State enjoys today.

May the soul of Iron Lady - Late Mrs Racheal Okonkwo and the souls of other political Martyrs  who paid the supreme price for Imo State to have a reign of Shared Prosperity Governance, continue to rest in peace, Amen.  And may the survivors  who had worked hard through diligence, loyalty and courage be rewarded for their travails, in Jesus name, Amen.

As we all enjoy the peculiar dividends of Shared Prosperity Governance, may we not forget the spirited travails of those who were haunted, hated and denied free socialization because of their long-suffering, visionary and dogged insistence on the ascendancy of Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma. In Orlu Local Government Area, in particular, may the labour of diligence, loyalty and steadfastness of these survivors be remembered and rewarded also.

This brings to the fore the personage of Chief Henry Egwuatụ, A.K.A Ozuomee N'Orlu.

The contemporary political engineering of today's Imo polity puts  emphasis on rural political mobilization. This is one legacy of acculturation now bequeathed to Imo Political consciousness by the CampHope Political Organization Worldwide.  The General Overseer of the Passion-driven Political machinery being no other person than the immutable Omeogo N'Orlu - High Chief (Hon) CaniceMore Chukwugozie Nwachuku (Ogbaturuenyi 1). He is today the most popular Member House of Representatives (MHR) from Imo State and represents the good people of Orlu/ Orsu/ Oru East Federal Constituency.

The RURAL RUGGED POLITICAL MACHINERY known as CampHope Organization Worldwide had, through practical political engineering, taken Imo State by storm and maintained an intimidating ubiquitous spread through the nooks and crannies of Imo State,  nationally and internationally without any pre-warning. The vision and power behind the enormous momentum of the CampHope Political Organization Worldwide is deserving of a special study in our Political Science curriculum. And the contributions of Chief Henry Egwuatụ (Ozuomee N'Orlu) remain indelible and very pivotal to the huge success story we tell today.

Cento percento (apologies to Hon Prince Ferdinand Akano - the stronger voice of Nwangele Politics), Chief Egwuatu, A.K.A Ozuomee N'Orlu is the next electable Executive Council Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area. This is a man who has laboured and worked  very hard for the rural currency of CampHope Political Organization Worldwide and the heroics of Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma in Imo Politics of today.

Ozuomee  is, perhaps, one rather unsung political gladiator synonymous with the rugged but grass-rooted political engineering that has traversed the entire State. He had played the role of the mitochondria in the life and political maneuvering of the CampHope Organization Worldwide.

But Politics is Ndorondoro ọchịchị. No one is elected without him agitating or raising his or her hand up to be elected. It is within permissible norms for someone to continue to aspire even after he'd been opportuned to serve before. Power is such an adorable thing. Men are insatiable but commonsense comes into reckoning when we look back in time and review what had happened all along the time. It does not make any political sense for a charitable man to lose his due because of his good sense of accommodation and benevolence. Tactfulness involves self-admonition against political greed and Oliver Twist tendencies.

In the exception of High Chief CaniceMoore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Ogbaturuenyi 1), Nze Elvis Agukwe who was the House of Rep candidate of AD for Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency in 2003 and who is also of the same Okwuabala Iheoma origin, then Chief Henry Egwuatụ, another agelong addent disciple of Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma that I still sight in all of Orlu LGA is Hon Stanley Nwosu (Ochinanwata). These are men who have truly paid their dues in their political discipleship under the mentorship of Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma.

God bless the memories of Late Dr Godwin Uche Dibie (Iyi Umuna) - then the Apex leader in Orlu AD under Senator Hope Uzodimma. Ditto, Late Barr F.O.C Ukwuoma who was the House of Assembly Candidate of AD then and who hailed from Amike.

Any politician given to sacrificing for the stability, progress and welfare of the polity is a leader to reckon with. Sacrifice is central in politics. Selflessness too is another virtue that points towards a leader when the clamour in Ndorondoro ọchịchị begins. All these are in the political scorecard of Chief Henry Egwuatụ - a team player and the one whose turn is NOW!

There are two blocs in Orlu LGA used for political balancing; the Orsu and Isu clans. Both clans alternate Chairmanship and House of Assembly positions. Today Hon Barr (Dr) Ikenna Ihezuo of Isu clan represents the LGA in the State House of Assembly. To the glory of God, the guy is doing so well now and is giving a good account of himself. That leaves the Local Government Chairmanship position for Orsu Clan. And in Orsu Clan, every other community has tasted either of the two alternated offices except Okwuabala Iheoma, from where Chief Henry Egwuatụ (Ozuomee N'Orlu) hails.

Looking at the demography and the security peculiarities in Orlu LGA, a consummate rural politician with proven mobilization skills and of course excellent human relations is in demand in Orlu LGA now.

Chief Henry Egwuatụ (Ozuomee N'Orlu) is the natural crave of the moment for equity and inclusivity in Orlu Local Government Area politics. It is expected that Hon (Rep) High Chief CaniceMoore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (MHR), the incumbent House of Assembly Member Representing Orlu State Constituency - Hon Barr (Dr) Ikenna Ihezuo, the immediate past Sole Administrator Pst Chris Mbarie, the former IMC of Orlu LGA - Chief Mrs Ifeoma Ndukwu and the hardworking LG Party Chairman - Hon Stanley Nwosu (Ochinanwata) should now coalesce and pull their resources to ensure that political equity is respected and the man who would rather work for all and have worked for all  - Chief Henry Egwuatụ is elected as the Council Chairman for Orlu Local Government Area.

A deserved Emilokan is thus supported by the candidacy and Chairmanship of Ozuomee N'Orlu. Loyalty is deserving of reward.

The expectations are more on Hon High Chief CaniceMore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu (Ogbaturuenyi 1) and he  is herewith mandated to co-ordinate his political lineups to shoot down this laurel and in combination with his machinery, decorate his eternal ally and the only credible option (Chief Henry Egwuatụ - Ozuomee N'Orlu) to put the rural dwellers in Orlu LGA up for Government benefits. Let those rural women/men who were passionate crusaders of Dist Sen Hope Uzodimma in Orlu LGA under the large umbrella of CampHope Political Organization enjoy the fruits of their labour. Late Mrs Jenny Racheal Okonkwo (Iron Lady) would not have died in vain!

Nothing else suffices.
