Imo State Development Centre Coordinators Await January Salaries Amid Uncertainty Over Dissolution

Coordinators of the Imo State Development Centres find themselves embroiled in a state of limbo as they await clarification from the State Government regarding their status following a directive from the Imo State House of Assembly calling for their dissolution. Despite the urgency of the matter, the Government has remained tight-lipped, leaving the coordinators in a state of uncertainty.

The Imo State House of Assembly recently passed a resolution instructing the Governor to dissolve the Coordinators and members of the Development Centres, along with other parastatals in the State. This directive has left the Coordinators scrambling for clarity on their future.

In response to the Assembly's call for dissolution, the Coordinators have made efforts to reach out to the Governor through intermediaries, pleading for the preservation of their tenured appointments. However, as of yet, the Governor has not officially communicated their fate, leaving them in a state of suspense.

Adding to their predicament, the Coordinators have yet to receive their January 2024 salaries, unlike other sectors that have already been compensated. The delay in salary disbursement has only heightened their confusion regarding their standing as Government appointees.

Sources within the Government House have hinted at ongoing deliberations regarding whether to comply with the Assembly's resolution or allow the Coordinators to remain in office. This internal debate is purportedly the cause of the delay in by salary payments, further exacerbating the Coordinators' uncertainty.

As the Coordinators anxiously await clarity on their status and the resolution of the salary impasse, the situation underscores the need for prompt and transparent communication from the State Government to alleviate the apprehension and confusion among its appointees.
