Akeredolu’s burial ‘ll be celebration of life — Aiyedatiwa

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has said that the burial of the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu won’t be a gloomy affair but a celebration of life.
Aiyedatiwa said this while receiving in his office the new Vice Chancellor of Elizade University, Ilara-Mokin, Prof Kayode Ijadunola.
He described the death of the former governor as a big loss because of the great contributions he had made in all spheres.
According to him, “The burial of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredelu will not be a gloomy affair. It will be the celebration of the life of a patriot who was true to life and mankind.”
The governor said the former governor will be given a well-deserved state burial, He added that Akeredolu’s family is being awaited for further briefing on the burial.
Aiyedatiwa noted that the government holds Elizade University’s Founder, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo in very high esteem.
He said the government and people of Ondo State are proud of the giant strides being made by the institution. He promised that the request of the Vice-Chancellor for the solar-powered light-up of the campus would be given attention.
Consequently, governors of the Southwestern states, under the aegis of the South West Governors’ Forum, resolved to collaborate with Akeredolu’s family to give the late Governor of Ondo State a befitting burial.
Elizade
Earlier, the new Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Ljadunola, called for a strong collaboration between Ondo government and the University.
This was contained in a statement by the institution’s Head of Public Relations, Williams Olufunmi, made available to Vanguard in Akure.
Ljadunola said the Founder of the University, Chief Michael Ade-Ojo has invested so much in the it. Not so much for what he stands to gain but as a deliberate commitment to building Ondo State and Ilara-Mokin.
He said though Elizade University is a private investment, it remains a worthwhile property in Ondo State.
He said it would outlive the Founder and continue to prosper the state in a re-generative manner. Ljadunola added that it will impact posterity and the entire human race.
Meanwhile, Professor Ijadunola also visited the Deji of Akure, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, and the Alara of Ilara-Mokin, Oba Abiodun Aderemi Adefehinti
